Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-19
Suki App Studio ("we", "us") publishes the Fate Compass mobile application (the "App") and is responsible for it under data protection law. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, where that information is kept, what is collected by our advertising provider, and what choices you have.
1. Summary
The App has no accounts, no sign-in and no payments, and we do not operate any server for it. All astrology calculations are done on your device. The birth details you enter, for yourself and for anyone you add, are stored only on your device and are never sent to us or to any third party. The App contains no analytics or crash-reporting tools. Apart from your own device backup and anything you choose to export or share (section 2), the only data that leaves your device through the App is the data that Google collects to show advertisements (section 3).
2. Information stored on your device
Profiles. For you and for each person you add, such as family members, friends or a partner, the App stores: a display name or nickname (optional), the date of birth, the time of birth (optional) and the place of birth. The place is chosen from a list of cities built into the App, which works offline, and is stored as the city name, country, coordinates and time zone. If you do not choose a place, the App stores your device's time zone instead. The App also notes which profile is your own. If you start with your Sun sign only, the App stores just that sign until you add birth details.
Settings. The App stores your language, calculation options (house system, zodiac and lunar node), theme, whether the daily notification is on and at what time, your acceptance of the Terms of Service and of this Privacy Policy, and whether you have completed the consent screen.
How this information is used. Profiles and settings are kept in the App's private storage on your device and are used only to calculate and display your readings and to remember your preferences. They are never transmitted to us or to third parties, including advertisers, and we have no access to them.
People you add. When you create a profile for someone else, you are entering that person's personal information. Please do so only with their permission, or where you are otherwise entitled to, and only for your own personal use. Their details are stored and protected in the same way as yours.
Export and import. You can export profiles to a file saved at a location you choose through Android's file picker, and import such a file later. An exported file contains the profile details described above. Once saved, the file is under your control: anyone who can open the place where you saved it, or to whom you send it, may be able to read it. We never receive exported files. When you import a file, the App reads it only to add its profiles to your device.
Sharing. If you use Share on a reading, the App creates an image of it on your device and passes it, with a short text, to the app you choose in Android's share menu. We do not receive it; what happens next is up to you and the app you chose.
Device backup. The App supports Android Auto Backup. If backup is turned on for your device, Android may include the App's data in the backup stored in your own Google account, under Google's terms. We cannot access this backup. You can turn backup on or off in your device settings.
Daily notification and widget. The daily notification is off by default. If you turn it on, the App prepares it on your device at the time you choose; on Android 13 and later, Android asks for the notification permission only at that moment. If you place the Fate Compass widget on your home screen, its content is also generated on your device. Readings shown in a notification or in the widget can be seen by anyone who sees your screen.
3. Advertising
The App is free and shows banner and native advertisements through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Before requesting any advertisement, the App presents Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent message where it is required, so that you can make your choices first.
When advertisements are requested and displayed, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the App collects the following data for Google: the advertising ID of your device; your IP address, from which an approximate location can be derived; information about your device and the App, such as device model, operating system, language and app version; and your interactions with advertisements, such as views and taps. Google uses this data to deliver advertisements, to personalise them where permitted, to measure their performance and to prevent fraud and abuse.
Whether advertisements are personalised depends on your choices and on where you live. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised advertising is shown only with your consent. In US states whose privacy laws give you this right, you can opt out of personalised advertising. If you do not consent, or if you opt out, Google may show non-personalised advertisements, which still use limited data, for example to limit how often an advertisement is shown, for aggregated reporting and to combat fraud.
Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and some US states, you can review or change your choices at any time in the App under Settings > Ad privacy choices. Everywhere, you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (depending on the device, for example under Privacy > Ads or Google > Ads).
The profiles and settings described in section 2 are never passed to Google or to any advertising partner. To learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's Privacy Policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
4. When you contact us
If you write to us by email, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use this information only to answer you and to handle your request, and we delete it once the matter is closed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
5. Permissions
Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): used only to load advertisements. Every other feature of the App works without a connection.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, Android 13 and later, optional): requested only when you turn on the daily notification. You can withdraw it at any time in your device settings; if you do not allow it, every feature except the notification keeps working.
Advertising ID (AD_ID): added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK so that it can read the advertising ID described in section 3.
The App does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or storage. The city list is built into the App, so no location access is needed, and export and import use Android's file picker, which gives the App access only to the file you select.
6. Purposes and legal bases
Profiles, settings, export and import, the daily notification and the widget: to provide the features you use, processed only on your device (performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Advertising: where the law requires consent, for example for personalised advertising and for storing or accessing information on your device in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time. Otherwise, on the basis of our legitimate interest in funding a free App and in protecting advertising against fraud (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Emails: to answer your enquiry, on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not receive the information stored in the App, so we cannot share it with anyone. Advertising data is collected directly by Google LLC, a company based in the United States, and may be processed in the United States and in other countries where Google and its partners operate. For data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google relies on the safeguards described in its policies, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework with its UK and Swiss extensions, and standard contractual clauses. Under some laws, using data for personalised advertising may be regarded as "selling" or "sharing" personal information; you can opt out as described in section 3.
8. Retention and deletion
Profiles and settings stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete any profile in the App at any time. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data in your device settings, deletes all of the App's data from your device. A backup in your Google account is kept according to your backup settings and Google's terms, and an exported file remains where you saved it until you delete it. Emails are kept as described in section 4. Google keeps advertising data according to its own policies.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive it in a portable format, to restrict or object to its processing, to withdraw your consent at any time (without affecting processing carried out before the withdrawal), and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Because the information in the App is stored only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the App: you can view, edit and delete your profiles, and make a copy of them with the export function. We do not hold this information, so we cannot look it up, change or delete it for you. For advertising data, use the choices in section 3 or the tools that Google describes in its Privacy Policy.
For any question or request, contact us at the address in section 14. We will reply within the period required by applicable law.
10. Regional information
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: you have the rights described in section 9 under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, and you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority where you live or work.
United States: we do not sell personal information for money. Under some state laws, for example in California, personalised advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or as "targeted advertising". You can opt out under Settings > Ad privacy choices or by deleting your advertising ID. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Republic of Korea: the items of personal information processed, the purposes of processing and the retention periods are as set out in sections 2 to 8. Apart from the overseas transfer for advertising described below, we do not provide personal information to third parties and do not entrust its processing to others. Overseas transfer. Recipient: Google LLC (privacy contact: googlekrsupport@google.com). Countries: the United States and other countries where Google operates. Items: advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, ad interaction data. Time and method: sent over the network each time an advertisement is requested or displayed. Purpose: delivering advertisements, personalising them (with consent where required), measuring them and preventing fraud. Retention: according to Google's policies. How to refuse and its effect: you can refuse personalised advertising by deleting your advertising ID in your device settings or, where the option is shown, under Settings > Ad privacy choices, in which case the advertisements you see may be less relevant to you. To avoid the transfer completely, use the App without an internet connection or uninstall it; every feature except advertising keeps working offline.
Republic of Korea, behavioural information: Google collects information on how advertisements are used in the App through the Google Mobile Ads SDK in order to provide personalised advertising, as described in section 3. You can refuse this in the ways described in the previous paragraph.
Republic of Korea, destruction: information on your device is permanently deleted from the device when you delete it in the App, clear the App's data or uninstall the App. Emails are deleted from our mailbox once the matter is closed.

11. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 must not use it. Users must also have reached the minimum age that applies in their country (for example 14 in the Republic of Korea, or up to 16 in some countries of the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly process personal information of children below these ages. If you believe that a child has used the App, please contact us.
12. Security
The App keeps its data in private storage that Android protects from other apps, and it does not send this data over the network. The Google Mobile Ads SDK transmits advertising data over encrypted connections. To protect your information, use a screen lock on your device and keep any exported files in a safe place.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. We will publish the updated version in the App and on our website with a new effective date and, for significant changes, inform you in the App before they take effect.
