Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form an agreement between you and Suki App Studio ("we", "us") and govern your use of the Fate Compass mobile application (the "App"). By accepting these Terms in the App or by using the App, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Our Privacy Policy, which you can open in the App at any time, explains how information is handled.

1. The App

Fate Compass is an astrology app. Based on the birth details you enter, it calculates birth charts and provides daily and longer-term horoscopes, compatibility readings between profiles and information about current events in the sky. All calculations run on your device. The App is free of charge; it has no accounts, sign-in or in-app purchases and is funded by advertising (section 7).

2. Entertainment and self-reflection only

The readings in the App follow astrological tradition, not scientific evidence, and are provided for entertainment and self-reflection only. They are not statements of fact, and nothing in the App is a prediction, promise or guarantee that any event or result will occur.

The readings are not medical, psychological, financial, legal or any other professional advice, and they do not replace a doctor, therapist, financial adviser, lawyer or other qualified professional. Do not make important decisions, for example about your health, relationships, money, studies or work, solely on the basis of a reading. If you are going through a difficult time or are worried about your health or safety, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

3. Calculations and accuracy

Planetary positions and other astronomical values are computed on your device using open-source algorithms. They may differ slightly from other sources, and the results depend on the accuracy of the birth date, time and place you enter. Without a birth time, the rising sign and houses cannot be calculated and some positions may be uncertain. The interpretations are general texts prepared in advance and selected according to the calculated positions. We do not guarantee that the calculations or interpretations are accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose.

4. Who may use the App

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. You must also have reached the minimum age required in your country to use such a service and to consent to the processing of personal data (for example 14 in the Republic of Korea, or up to 16 in some countries of the European Economic Area).

5. Profiles and other people's details

You can create profiles for yourself and for other people. When you enter another person's name or birth details, you confirm that you have their permission or are otherwise entitled to do so. You agree to use their details only for your own personal purposes and to respect their privacy; do not use the App to profile, monitor or harass anyone.

Profiles are stored only on your device, as explained in the Privacy Policy. We cannot see, recover or restore them. If you delete a profile, clear the App's data or uninstall the App, that data is lost unless you have exported it or it is included in your device backup. You are responsible for the files you export and the readings you share, including where you keep them and with whom you share them.

6. Notifications and widget

The daily notification is optional and off by default, and you may add or remove the home-screen widget at any time. Both are generated on your device. Their timing can be affected by Android's battery and system settings, so we cannot guarantee that a notification or a widget update will appear at an exact time.

7. Advertising

The App displays banner and native advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Native advertisements appear within the App's screens and are marked as advertisements. Advertisements are requested only after Google's consent message has been shown where it is required, and, where this option is shown, you can change your choices at any time under Settings > Ad privacy choices. Advertisements come from third parties: we do not control their content and are not responsible for the products, services or websites they promote. If you leave the App through an advertisement, the terms and policies of that third party apply.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others; enter another person's details without permission; click on, view or otherwise interact with advertisements in an artificial or fraudulent way, or interfere with their display; circumvent the App's security or technical restrictions; copy, modify, distribute, sell or reverse engineer the App or its content, except where the law or the open-source licences in section 9 allow it; or present readings from the App to others as professional advice or as a guaranteed prediction.

9. Intellectual property and third-party content

The App, including its software, design, interpretation texts and graphics, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the App for non-commercial purposes on devices that you own or control, in accordance with these Terms.

The App contains the following third-party content and software, which remain subject to their own licences.

City data: GeoNames (https://www.geonames.org), licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). The data has been modified: it was filtered and converted for offline use in the App. GeoNames does not endorse the App, and the data is provided as is, without warranty.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the App and all readings are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be available without interruption, free of errors or compatible with every device.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from decisions you make on the basis of readings, from the loss of data stored on your device or from third-party advertisements. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes, suspension and termination

We may change, suspend or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. We may also update these Terms. We will announce material changes in the App before they take effect and may ask you to accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree with them, you may stop using the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Your licence to use the App ends automatically if you seriously breach these Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you habitually reside, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the matter together. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
