Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Trail Kit mobile application (the "App") provided by Suki App Studio ("we", "us"). By using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What the App is
The App is a set of outdoor tools for hikers: a compass, your position in several coordinate formats (including Korea's national point number), an altimeter and air-pressure trend, sunrise, sunset and moon times, saved places with directions back to them, a hike timer with a turnaround reminder, a flashlight with SOS signal and red light, a whistle and siren, a slope meter, a gear checklist, an SOS screen with emergency numbers and position sharing, and a short safety and first-aid guide.
2. Not a substitute for preparation or rescue services
The App relies on a phone's GPS, sensors and battery. Positions, altitudes, directions, distances, times and slope angles are approximate and can be wrong or unavailable, for example under tree cover, in valleys, near metal or magnets, in cold weather, or when the battery is empty. The emergency numbers shown are a convenience and may be out of date or not the right service where you are.
Do not rely on the App as your only means of navigation, timekeeping or calling for help. Carry a map, a real compass, a headlamp and enough clothing, food and water; check the weather and the route; tell someone your plan; and follow the instructions of park authorities and rescue services. The safety guide is general information, not medical advice and not a replacement for first-aid training or professional care. In an emergency, call the local emergency number first.
The flashlight's strobe can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy; do not point it at people's eyes. The whistle and siren are loud; do not hold the phone to your ear while they play.
3. Who may use the App
You must be at least 14 years old to use the App. If the law of your country sets a higher age for agreeing to these Terms or to the processing of your data (for example 16 in some European countries), you must have reached that age or have the consent of your parent or guardian.
4. Advertising
The App is free and funded by advertising delivered by Google AdMob: one banner at the bottom of the screen. The banner is not shown on the SOS, flashlight and whistle screens. We do not control the content of third-party advertisements and are not responsible for the products or services they promote.
5. Your data
Saved places, hike data, emergency information and settings are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us. Messages and calls you start from the App are sent by your own messaging and phone apps and your mobile operator. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data deletes what is stored in the App, and we cannot restore it. The Privacy Policy explains what is processed.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the App for unlawful purposes; send false emergency reports; interfere with or bypass the advertising or any security feature; or reverse engineer the App except where the law permits it.
7. Third-party services
Advertising is provided by Google AdMob, and maps you open from the App are provided by the map app you choose. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies.
8. Intellectual property
The App's software, design and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are licensed to you for personal use on your own devices. This licence ends when you stop using the App or breach these Terms.
9. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows, including warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that its readings will be correct, or that a message or call started from it will reach anyone.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss, injury or damage arising from your reliance on a reading, time, direction or piece of information provided by the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Changes and termination
We may update the App or these Terms. Material changes will be announced inside the App or on its store page before they take effect. We may suspend or discontinue the App at any time. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
