Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-19
Suki App Studio ("we", "us") provides the Lantern Tarot mobile application for Android (the "App"). This policy explains what personal information is processed when you use the App, why, by whom, for how long, and what choices you have. It is written to meet the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), among others.
1. Summary
The App has no user accounts and we do not operate any server for it. Your readings, questions, notes and other App data are stored only on your device, and we never receive them. The only personal information that leaves your device through the App is the advertising data collected by Google's advertising service (Google AdMob), with your consent where the law requires it.
2. Data stored only on your device
Items: your readings (the cards drawn and when), the questions and notes you type, favourites, reading statistics, settings (such as language and daily reminder time), your acceptance of the Terms and this policy, the cosmetic card backs and ad-free periods you have unlocked, and the time full-screen advertisements were last shown.
Purpose: to provide the App's features, to keep your journal and settings, and to limit how often full-screen advertisements appear.
This data is kept in the App's private storage on your device and is not sent to us or to any third party by the App. Because questions and notes are free text, please avoid writing other people's sensitive information in them.
Android backup: if backup is turned on in your device settings, Android may include this data in the backup of your own Google account (Android Auto Backup). The backup is provided by Google to you; we cannot access it. You can turn backup off in Android settings.
Export and import: you can export your data to a JSON file and import such a file later. You choose where the file is saved or sent (for example your device storage or a cloud service), and from then on it is under your control. The file is not encrypted, so store it carefully.
Sharing: a share image of a reading is created only when you tap share, and it is sent only to the app or contact you choose in Android's share menu.
Daily reminder: if you turn it on, the reminder is scheduled locally on your device; no server is involved. On recent Android versions the App asks for the notification permission for this.
3. Data collected by Google for advertising
The App shows advertisements through the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob), including banner, native, full-screen and rewarded advertisements. When an advertisement is requested or shown, the SDK collects and sends to Google: the advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location is derived), device and app information (such as device model, operating system, language and App version), advertising consent status, and information about advertisements shown and your interactions with them (such as views and taps).
Google uses this data to deliver and measure advertisements, to personalise advertisements where you have allowed it, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to improve its services. Google LLC and its partners process this data under their own policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://policies.google.com/privacy. The data is sent directly from your device to Google; we receive only aggregated reports that do not identify you.
4. What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, files, microphone audio or health information, and the App's own data (including your questions and notes) is never sent to us or to advertisers. Besides internet access for advertising, the only permission the App asks for is notifications, and only if you turn on the daily reminder.
5. Legal bases
App data on your device: providing the App you asked for (performance of the Terms). Under Korean law this processing takes place on your device and is necessary to provide the service.
Advertising: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, your consent, collected through Google's consent message (Google User Messaging Platform) when you first start the App; you can change it at any time. Elsewhere, our legitimate interest in funding a free App, and your consent where local law requires it.
6. Third parties and processors
Google LLC (Google AdMob and its advertising partners) collects the advertising data described in section 3 directly from the App. For delivering and measuring advertisements Google acts on our behalf, and for its own purposes (such as personalisation and fraud prevention) as an independent controller. We do not otherwise provide your personal information to any third party, and we do not sell it.
Android Auto Backup is a Google service that you control in your device settings; data shared through the share menu goes only to the recipient you choose.
7. International transfer
Advertising data is transferred overseas as follows.
Recipient: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; contact through https://support.google.com/policies/contact/general_privacy_form
Countries: the United States and other countries where Google and its advertising partners operate.
Items: as listed in section 3.
When and how: over the network each time an advertisement is requested or shown while you use the App.
Purpose and retention: as described in sections 3 and 8.
Legal basis: your consent where required, and the safeguards Google uses (including standard contractual clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable).
How to refuse: withdraw consent in "Ad privacy settings", or reset or delete your advertising ID (see section 9). If you refuse, advertisements may be non-personalised or limited, but you can still use all features of the App.
8. Retention and destruction
App data stays on your device until you delete it with the in-app delete option, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Deleted data is erased from the App's storage and cannot be recovered by us. Copies in your Google account backup remain until that backup is removed or replaced, and exported files remain wherever you saved them until you delete them.
Google retains advertising data for the periods set out in its own policies (see https://policies.google.com/technologies/retention).
9. Your choices and rights
Advertising: open Settings > "Ad privacy settings" in the App (shown where the law requires it) to change or withdraw your consent. In Android settings (Google > Ads, or Privacy > Ads, depending on the device) you can reset or delete your advertising ID or turn off personalised advertising.
Your App data: you can view your data in the App, export it, and delete it at any time with the in-app delete option or by uninstalling the App.
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to restrict or object to processing, to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we hold no personal information about you on our side, most requests concern data on your device (which you control) or data held by Google, which you can manage at https://myaccount.google.com and https://adssettings.google.com. You can also contact us at sukiappstudio@gmail.com; we will reply without undue delay and within the period required by law (in Korea within 10 days).
California residents: in the last 12 months, the categories of personal information collected through the App were identifiers (advertising ID, IP address), internet or electronic network activity (advertising interactions) and approximate location derived from the IP address, collected by Google for the advertising purposes in section 3. We do not sell personal information for money. Showing personalised advertisements may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising; you can opt out by turning off personalised advertising or deleting your advertising ID as described above. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in particular in the country where you live or work.
10. Children
The App is not intended for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information of children under 14. Advertising requests are not marked as directed to children. Where local law requires a higher age to consent to personalised advertising (for example 16 in some EEA countries or for "sharing" under the CCPA), users under that age should not consent to personalised advertising, or should do so only with a parent's permission. If you believe a child under 14 has used the App, contact us and we will help remove any related information.
11. Security
App data is kept in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot read, and Android backups are protected by Google's backup encryption. Advertising data is transmitted to Google over encrypted connections. We process only the minimum described in this policy. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please protect your device with a screen lock and keep exported files safe.
